about

This song was written in the wake of the mosque shootings in Christchurch when all of New Zealand was shaken that such a thing could happen here. Peace is paramount - and it starts inside each of us.

lyrics

Peace

Peace is an inside job
Peace starts when anger stops
Outside the battles wage, when
Inside the demons rage

When I'm feeling bad inside
And there's nowhere I can hide
From the pain behind my eyes
From the pain building up inside

Chorus
I take a little piece of sunshine in
Mix it with the peace that lies within
Drench it with the tears of love I knew in youth and
Grow in peace again

Verse 2
Joy is an inside job
Joy starts when sorrow stops
When my mood's a sinking boat
I have to work to stay afloat

When I'm feeling bad inside
And there's nowhere I can hide
From the sorrow behind my eyes
From the sorrow building up inside

Chorus

Verse 3
Love is an inside job
Love starts when terror stops
My body knows it's safe out there
But my mind plays its tricks with fear

When I'm feeling bad inside
And there's nowhere I can hide
From the terror behind my eyes
From the terror building up inside

Chorus

about

Both Sides of the Line Dunedin, New Zealand

Both Sides of the Line's cd, Sideshow, is " a record chock full of slinky country tunes, built upon 21st Century ‘adult contemporary’ bones. Digging a little beneath the surface you will find cooing swing come-ons here (Magical Man), fleeting touches of Americana there (Macs General Store), rockabilly beats and soft rock tendencies throughout." (Ricardo Kerr, NZ Musician). ... more
